It has been almost 2 months now since I found out that I would be going to Florida. Since then, I have heard and learned so much about missionary work and Florida, and every bit makes me even more excited! This past week has been crazy with shopping and packing, but it's all worth it. In one week, I will officially become a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will not be able to call my family except on Christmas and Mother's Day, I will only be allowed to email family and friends once a week, I will be required to wake up at 6:30 every morning...some of it doesn't sound like very much fun. But I know that these things will make me a better missionary and I will have a great experience nonetheless!
I was talking with a church leader recently about my mission, and he said, "You know you're not scared, right? If you were truly afraid, then you wouldn't be going." I realized that I have faith that this is what I'm supposed to do and that God will help me through the challenges. It is His work, after all. :)
